Here at The Gautrey Group we don’t waste time with our influence training ― we focus
on making sure it hits the mark, and gets the results for our clients. And we don’t rest on
our laurels, great though they are, we work hard to keep improving the impact
our influence training gets.
How We Measure Our Influence Training
Quite simply, we use online systems to collect feedback from our delegates twice.
- Stage One: Soon after their workshop we ask for their strength of agreement
on a 0-5 Likert Scale and also a number of open questions. This avoids the “happy sheet”
effect because we ask a few days later using an anonymous online process.
- Stage Two: About three months after the influence training, we ask specific
questions related to how they implemented their learning. We seek examples of the results
they have obtained, and how it has made a difference to their work.
The feedback structure can be adapted to suit the needs of either the client or the
training design.
A Recent High Impact Programme
All of our training gets a great result, and here is just one example of some
Stage One feedback from a recent programme (including their typos!). It involved
over 30 middle/senior managers from the US division of a major global corporation.

Comments about how the training helped…
- Identifying specific issues and developing specific plans to resolve the issues. Figuring
out which advocates can help me attain resolution. Also, pinpointing my stakeholders
personality type so I can adjust my strategy for influencing them.
- Think ahead of time how I will approach a situation so I can best influence the
person/people I am dealing with. Also, I plan to be more assertive so that people realize
I may be nice but I can also be effective.
- It really opened my eyes to areas that I struggle with when dealing with situations, so
I truly believe with the new techniques my stress level will drop.
- Take what I learned and use it in my daily activities I have also shared it with my
coworkers already
- Try to gain a better understanding of other people's styles and focus on how to
better relate to them.
- Learning how to use my power to influence others positively
- Use my skills and assetts to gain influence by taking personal ownership
- Try not to get too passionate.
- More focus on networking.
- I do need to be more sociable and network more. Be more open to these opportunities
- Be more open to showing emotion at times. Attempt more networking
- Learn how to better manage my Key Stakeholders
- Have more confidence in my decisions
- I liked the analysing stakeholders exercise. Made some changed afterwards
